\\.::Fifteen::.//

Christmas break was over and Sidney was back to playing hockey. I was still off from work and haven’t seen Sidney since my family’s dinner. I was sitting on the couch doing bills after my nap. I was waiting for Sidney to come over and the repair man. My sink was leaking and I couldn’t get anyone to help since the busy holiday.
There was a knock at the door and I walked over to get it. I opened it to see the man from Joe’s Crab Shack. He also looked like someone; someone I knew well.
“Hello,” I greeted him as he shut the door behind him and locked it.
“Hey, Raina,” he grinned.

Then it hit me; Kenny.

“Kenny, why are you here?” I asked with a shaky voice.
“To fix your sink, babe,” he said backing me up into the corner.
“Get away, from me,” I hissed.
“You’re not happy to see me?”
“Get out!” I cried trying not to let tears fall down my face.
He just grinned, “I just wanted to make sure you were minding your own business and staying out of the law.”
“I don’t plan to go to your hearing, okay?” I just wanted this man out of my life.
“Smart girl,” he said pulling out a knife. “I mean, I stayed away for three years. Let’s keep it that way?” He slid the soft side of the knife around my neck. “Or you’ll be like Mister Lane.”
“Why did you kill him?!” I shouted. “Why did you kill your own fucking brother?”
He still had that stupid smile on his face, like he was proud. “Well, I’m proud of it,” he laughed. “And I’m happy to see your smart little head figured it out; I killed Justin.”
“Bastard,” I sobbed. “Why though? Why did you kill someone you grew up with, and was always there for you?”
“Because Justin had everything I couldn’t have; you. Raina, you stupid cunt, you’re all I wanted. I tried to make you give me a shot, but you were too busy fucking the big time boy. Justin didn’t really love you.”
I took all the strength I had, and to it into a punch to his face. “Take that back, Kenny. Take it back!” I cried. “Justin loved me! More than anything!”
“But you let go of his hand to text your buddy. And his last moments perfectly fine were…. Shot.” He grinned. “Bang! Just like that,” he laughed. He stuck the knife into my side and dug it into my skin cutting up my side. “And if you don’t stay away January 26, you’ll end up just like Justin,” he said slowly. He threw the knife on the floor and walked out.

I fell to the floor grabbing my side. I started sobbing and held the knife. I stabbed the floor as if it were Kenny’s face. I suddenly felt light headed and pass out.

“Raina! Raina!” I felt someone shaking me. I sat up and held my side starting to cry.
“Sidney,” I cried, leaning into him. “Kenny’s going to kill me!” I realized it was a dream; a nightmare.
Sidney held me tight and shushed me. “It’s alright, baby. No one’s here to hurt you.”
“He came over! He’s going to kill me if I come to the court hearing!” I started to breath heavily and my face was soaked in tears.
“Raina, it’s alright, honey. Nothing’s going to happen to you. You’re safe with me,” he said stroking my hair.
“It was so scary,” I said whipping tears away.
Sidney just held me tight. He came over after practice and we took a nap together. I guess I woke him up during our sleep. “Let me go get you water,” he said starting to move.
“Don’t!” I yelled grabbing him. He couldn’t help but laugh. “I don’t want to be alone.”
He smiled and kissed me, “Let watch a movie, sweetheart.”

The next morning, I woke up to the smell of breakfast. Sidney walked back into the room with eggs and pancakes on a tray with water. “Good morning, baby,” he smiled, setting the tray over me and kissing my forehead.
“Morning,” I said softly with a smile. I fixed my hair and looked at the amazing breakfast Sid made. He really was the best. “Thanks, babe,” I said as he sat next to me and kissed him. “So, what’s going on today?” I asked getting ready to take a bite of my eggs.
“Well, tonight we’re playing the Sabers. You wanna come to morning skate so you’re not alone?” I nodded as I took a drink. “Okay, well I’m going to clean up the kitchen and you finish and get a shower and I’ll be right after you,” he said kissing me.
“Good deal, sir,” I smiled. I finished up my food quickly and hoped in the shower. I hurried so I could make myself look decent. Sidney walked in as I put on a robe and my hair up in a clip. He kissed me as he stripped to shower. I dried my hair and curled it, leaving my bangs straight. I quickly put on makeup and searched for clothes. I threw on a pair of jeans, boots and a fancy black sweater. Sidney walked out of the bathroom in his towel and glanced at me.
“Either I take forever, or you’re just fast!” he laughed.
“Little bit of both,” I smiled wrapping my arms around his neck. He grinned and kissed me lightly.
“I have to get ready, beautiful. I have to look almost as good as my girlfriend.” I laughed and slammed his butt.

I walked out of the bed room and looked around the place. Sidney did a good job cleaning. He really was a great guy. I have so much to thank him for in life. I sat down and Millie tried to jump up my lap.
“Dog, jump on me and you’ll get it,” I sternly told her as I turned on the news. Sidney short came out of the bed room and I turned off the tv and fixed my sweater. “Ready to roll?”
“Sure am,” he said handing me my coat. We headed to the Mellon and Sidney led me inside. He didn’t tell the media about us yet, and I wasn’t sure on what his plan for that was, but it was whatever to me. He was all to myself, so what did I have to worry about?

During practice I sat by myself, close to a guard. Someone sat next to me and I looked over to see Vero. “Hey,” I smiled.
“Hello,” she smiled back. “How are you doing?”
“Pretty good, yourself?” I asked, trying to avoid bringing up my thoughts.
“Can’t complain. How was your Christmas?”
“It was really great,” I smiled thinking about Sidney. “Yours?”
“Fantastic,” she said with a huge smile. I love going to Canada for Christmas. It was so beautiful and exciting. Maybe Sid can take you up there some time,” she winked.
I blushed and smiled, “Maybe.”
“Are you going to the winter classic? You’d have a blast! And the falls are there! It’d be perfect,” Vero gushed.
“Sid didn’t ask, and I don’t want to invade his space, ya know? I doubt I’d go anyways.”
“Well,” she stated, “if he does, you take him up on that offer! Because it’s going to be amazing!”
